"Kim's Darker Side": Paranormal Researcher & Investigator
Kim's Story:
Kim’s journey through Nova Scotia's rugged landscapes and rich history has cultivated a deep appreciation for both the land and its people within the unceded territory of Mi'kma'ki. After spending 15 years in corporate sales, she chose to pursue her true passion: engaging with individuals, weaving narratives, and exploring visual storytelling.
From an early age, Kim found inspiration in the words of renowned Nova Scotian folklorist Helen Creighton, whose collection of supernatural tales sparked her imagination. Attending the same school in Halifax where Helen once studied fueled her commitment to preserving the oral traditions that are so vital to the culture of Eastern Canada. She became increasingly drawn to local literature on ghost stories and Maritime lore, propelling her fascination with the paranormal to new heights.
Kim’s dreams have always played a significant role in her life. Initially perplexing, they transformed into meaningful channels of communication following the death of a loved one. Recognizing this unique ability, she embarked on a journey of exploration in 2005, diving into research and taking courses in parapsychology and Reiki certification.
In 2018, Kim launched her podcast, Boos & Bourbon, where she retold paranormal stories while exploring some of the most haunted locations across the United States. Her travels took her to notable sites, such as Indiana State & Waverly Hills Sanatoriums, Old South Pittsburg Hospital in Tennessee, Graestone Manor in New York, The Conjuring House in Rhode Island, the Lizzie Borden House in Massachusetts, Bloody Mary's Haunted Museum in New Orleans, and Fairfield County Infirmary in Ohio.
By sharing her encounters and engaging with the paranormal community, Kim transitioned into the entertainment industry. She started as a co-host on the fifth season of Haunted, then took on roles as Production Manager and Director of Maritime Museums since 2020. Over six seasons, Kim was part of the investigative team on Haunted with Eastlink TV in Canada. She now continues her investigations on the YouTube channel Paranormal Discovery and produces her mini-series, Kim's Darker Side, available on both Instagram and YouTube.
In addition to her active role in media, Kim has become a prominent speaker at the Halifax Paranormal Symposium and recently acted as the MC for the event. She is also broadening her expertise in the parapsychological realm through studies in Demonology Research and Mediumship courses while working on documentary-style television series in Canada. Kim's dedication to her craft and passion for the paranormal continues to shape her journey, connecting her deeply with the stories and people of her beloved Nova Scotia.
